“Friends of FENDI” is a series initiated by Kim Jones, FENDI’s artistic director of haute couture and women’s wear, and Silvia Venturini Fendi, artistic director of FENDI’s accessories and men’s wear, inviting friends in the fashion industry to collaborate across borders. After the first collaboration with designer Stefano Pilati in the fall of 2023 was well received, the brand announced a second collaboration with friends to be launched in January. This time the friend is “the godfather of streetwear trends” Hiroshi Fujiwara.
This cooperation between the two parties includes two major series: one is the FENDI x FRGMT series, which is a collaboration between FENDI and Hiroshi Fujiwara’s brand Fragment, including classic bags and T-shirts; the other is a collaboration with the best-selling IP Pokémon (The Pokémon Company) The collaborative FENDI x FRGMT x POKÉMON joint series takes the dragon-shaped Pokémon character as its theme and also echoes the upcoming Year of the Dragon.
FENDI Baguette women’s bags, mini styles Baguette Pouch and Mini Mon Trésor, as well as new foldable Baguette shopping bags and soft hobo bags. Men’s bags such as large messenger bags and waist bags are replaced with FRGMT’s subversive yellow contrasting zippers.
In the FENDIxFRGMTx POKÉMON three-party co-branded series, FENDI’s most recognizable Peekaboo and Baguette bags for women and men are equipped with Pokémon dragon characters. And use exquisite craftsmanship, such as using full leather 3D inlay technology to make the Baguette and Mini Baguette bags of Kuailong and Mini Dragon; a special Baguette bag decorated with complex and fine micro-bead FF embroidery technology, embroidered with three Pokémon Characters and tassels; a shiny white crocodile Peekaboo ISeeU bag features Harker and mini dragon graphics on the metal handle and chain strap.
In addition to bags, the three-party collaboration also includes small leather goods, key charms, textile accessories, a series of galvanized brass jewelry, and casual clothing for men and women.
