Louis Vuitton (LV for short) announced that it will create an official hard case trophy for the Australian Open, a Grand Slam event to be held in Melbourne. Unveiled at the awards ceremony, the hard cases will contain the Norman Brookes Challenge Cup awarded to the men’s singles champion and the Daphne Adkurst Memorial Cup trophy awarded to the women’s singles champion. .

Both boxes are handmade by Louis Vuitton’s experienced craftsmen in the historic Asnières workshop outside Paris. The wooden frame is covered with classic Monogram canvas, and the box surface is decorated with classic lozine leather trim and uses Classic brass corners, locks and trunk buckles from the 1860s. The two door panels on the front of the box fold back to display the trophy inside. The door panels are painted with a striking white V, which represents “Victory” and also means the brand name “Vuitton”. The inner lining is made of blue microfiber fabric that echoes the official color of the Australian Open and the blue court.
