Paris Haute Couture Week/Song Hye Kyo looked stunning in red stockings at the FENDI show! Dresses become gorgeous baguette bags and furs evolve

On the last day of Paris Haute Couture Week, FENDI presented the 2024 spring and summer haute couture collection. Artistic director Kim Jones used minimalist precision tailoring and luxurious craftsmanship to reflect the diversity of haute couture aesthetics. The core element of fur flows into jackets, Topped with a skirt, it instantly brightens up your daily look. Brand ambassadors Korean star Song Hye Kyo and “Spider Woman” Zendaya both appeared with new hairstyles and became the center of attention in the front row of the show.

Song Hye Kyo’s look for this show featured a gentle center-parted hairstyle and a soft lapel jacket paired with red stockings. Zendaya wore playful bangs on her eyebrows and a well-fitting dress to show off her goddess figure. Regarding the concept of this season, FENDI Haute Couture and Women’s Art Director Kim Jones said, “I have been thinking about the futurism that exists in Karl Lagerfeld and the FENDI brand. In this season’s haute couture series, humanism is the future. At the core; there is the body, the silhouette within the silhouette, the human being, and the savoir-faire that goes into making clothes by hand. The theme of this collection is structure and decoration, the two are inseparable. What I wanted was a precision that coexists with emotion concept.”

Today’s haute couture has transformed into a look that combines pragmatism and romance. FENDI took inspiration from the new “Scatola” (meaning “box”) silhouette and used flowing and precise geometric patterning technology to shape a modern dress that is light and slim. But without losing the sense of luxury. Focusing on the brand’s iconic fur, a new form of feather-like fringe becomes a new fur, with a sense of fluidity, swaying when walking, and then transformed into a fringed skirt. Kim Jones loves Japanese culture and often draws on traditional Japanese elements in her design vocabulary. This time she appears in a ribbed knitted long skirt that elegantly wraps the knotted Japanese rope binding art “Shibari” tie, using the finest cashmere and vicuña yarn. Woven, feels delicate against the skin. Soft crocodile leather is used throughout the collection, on clothing and accessories, including jackets and coats.

A variety of custom-made Baguette bags have become a surprise part of this haute couture show, echoing the materials used to make haute couture clothes this season, from soft crocodile coats lined with mink to fringed and flowing, feminine embroidered pieces. The most luxurious Mini Baguette in the market is made of 18K white gold, with pavé white diamond buckles, and platinum foil on the crocodile skin bag, which complements each other with exquisite craftsmanship and a gorgeous attitude of haute couture.
