TEFAF, the world’s top collection fair, opens in the Netherlands to showcase heirloom jewelry by Van Cleef & Arpels

The 2024 European Art and Antiques Fair (The European Fine Art Foundation Maastricht, referred to as TEFAF Maastricht) will be held at the Maastricht Exhibition Center (MECC) in the Netherlands from March 9 to March 14. The exhibition covers a variety of Artworks, antiques, jewelry and other masterpieces from different fields are regarded as the highest palace of the world’s top collections. French jewelry brand Van Cleef & Arpels, which has participated for 11 consecutive years, presented seven works this year, including 5 pieces from the Heritage collection and 2 contemporary jewelry creations. The Chinese high-end jewelry brand ANNA HU HAUTE JOAILLERIE is invited for the third consecutive year this year and is the only Chinese designer jewelry brand this year.

The Heritage collection series selects jewelry published from the 1920s to the 1990s. It has been carefully examined by experts and traced back to its origins through documentary materials to identify its history and authenticity. The exhibits include two Leaf brooches from the 1940s and three pieces from the 1960s. A masterpiece of the era. Two brooches shaped like green leaves reflect the brand’s creative origins inspired by nature. Simple and organic lines outline the outline of the leaves. The 1943 model is embellished with star-shaped diamonds on the surface of polished yellow gold, and is similar to the 1930 brand’s classic Ludo bracelet. The star diamonds echo the fine design. The surface of the leaves of the 1947 model is paved with diamonds of different sizes, which is the brand’s return to the realistic and natural style of the late 19th century after the war.

The gold Minaudière treasure box combines elements from the dual fields of jewelry and objets d’art crafts. It was originally the private collection of a famous ship owner and reflects the life and fashion style of the upper class ladies of the time. A pair of sapphire earrings from 1967 originally belonged to a South American socialite. They are set with two 15.68-carat prong-set cabochon-cut sapphires, surrounded by round diamonds. The flower design is bold and lively, reflecting the atmosphere of the times. Two 15.68-carat rose-cut sapphires hang from the bottom. and connects a claw-set ruby ​​and three dangling pear-shaped emeralds, removable and convertible. The turquoise and amethyst bracelet reflects the popular arc curves and rich textures of the 1970s, forming a colorful and cheerful pattern like a lively and bright mosaic, suitable for different occasions day and night.

Among the two contemporary high-end jewelry pieces, the Philenor Butterfly Between the Finger ring is made from the American blue swallowtail butterfly. It uses onyx, turquoise and white mother-of-pearl inlays to reproduce the colorful butterfly wings, and is topped with bezel setting and wavy patterns. The setting technique embellishes pink sapphires and diamonds to create contrast and depth. A 2.5-carat EVVS2 grade bezel-set diamond faces the opposite end of the butterfly, outlining the image of exploring flowers and collecting nectar. The Léonore ballerina brooch has a hollow ballet skirt with rich layers, paved with various cuts of diamonds of different sizes, and wears a crown set with baguette-cut diamonds. It looks more lively against the yellow gold corset and dance shoes set with sapphires.

The Philenor Butterfly Between the Finger ring on display by Van Cleef & Arpels is made of white gold and rose gold, set with a 2.50-carat EVVS2 round diamond, ruby, pink sapphire, onyx, turquoise, white mother-of-pearl and diamonds. .

Anna Hu, founder of the high-end jewelry brand ANNA HU HAUTE JOAILLERIE and a Chinese-European high-end jewelry artist who has been invited to participate in the exhibition for a record-breaking three consecutive years, adheres to her passion and mission for the exchange of Eastern and Western culture and art. With the theme of “Art Without Boundaries”, a total of 10 classic works of the brand are on display, including two new works, the Flying Tuxiang Brooch and the Flying Peony Brooch, which were released for the first time. They are the highlights of this exhibition that have attracted much attention.
