Q-version of Chanel’s classic photo jumps onto the dial, dedicated to this year’s Only Watch auction

The Only Watch charity auction, sponsored by H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco and organized by the Monaco Muscular Dystrophy Prevention Association (Association Monégasque contre les Myopathies, referred to as AMM), holds a hammer every two years and is organized by each organization. A major watch brand has donated a one-of-a-kind watch to raise funds for research into the rare disease Duchenne muscular dystrophy. This year’s 10th auction will be held by Christie’s auction house in Geneva on May 10.

CHANEL, which has continued to participate in the Only Watch charity auction since 2009, presents a set of Mademoiselle J12 LA PAUSA watches specially designed for the Only Watch charity auction. This pair of black and white watches combined with highly wear-resistant ceramic materials is based on the brand’s J12 watch that swept the world in 2000. It is inspired by the photos of Ms. Chanel’s garden of La Pausa’s villa on the Côte d’Azur that she took in 1930. , the work shows Ms. Chanel wearing a Breton sweater and buttoned trousers, her silhouette printed on a sapphire crystal plate and fixed to the dial. Both watches are driven by the Caliber 12.1 self-winding mechanical movement tailor-made by Kenissi, a Swiss watchmaking factory co-owned by Chanel.
