Vacheron Constantin’s Master of Arts series showcases the beauty of oriental royal patterns

The royal ornaments and totems of ancient Eastern civilizations have always been important assets of human civilization. The top watch brand Vacheron Constantin has released the new Métiers d’Art series “Tribute to Traditional Symbols” watches, which are divided into two themes: “Surge of the Universe” and “Moonlight Rivers and Mountains”, each available in white gold and rose gold styles. The research on the classics and historical materials of ancient Chinese dynasties once again shows the integration of Eastern and Western civilization and craftsmanship, elegance and restraint.

Vacheron Constantin collaborated with Song Haiyang, a senior appraisal expert who was once an associate research librarian at the Palace Museum in Beijing and director of the exhibition department of the Palace Museum in Beijing. They got inspiration from the “seawater river cliff pattern” of the Ming Dynasty Emperor Zhu Yijun’s period and transformed it into two new Métiers d ‘ The decorative totem of the dial craftsmanship of the Art series watch.

The “sea water river cliff pattern” that appeared in large numbers in palace architectural decorations was also scattered in porcelain, furniture and clothing embroidery. The repeated appearance of red, green and blue, plus the purple symbolizing the Chinese emperor, became the “surge” There are two dial colors with themes of “Cosmos” and “Moonlight Rivers and Mountains”; among them, “Surge of Universe” uses two processes of cloisonné enamel and hand carving. Vacheron Constantin’s art craftsmen used 220 gold threads and a process of more than 50 hours. A filigree gold thread totem with complex contrasts, miniature but majestic was created, and was individually fired in multiple kilns, leaving the dial with a warm and rich enamel color; the “Moonlight Mountains and Rivers” model relied on water pattern carving The three techniques of inlaying, blue enamel and diamonds are stacked to show the turbulent momentum of the mountains and the sea.

The watches all use the 2460 self-winding movement independently developed by Vacheron Constantin and bearing the Geneva Seal. It has a time display and a 40-hour power reserve. At the same time, the 22K gold automatic plate is decorated with seawater river cliff pattern engravings.
