Wearable art! Limited Edition LV Art Silk Squares Scarf

Louis Vuitton (LV) joins hands with five artists to use Louis Vuitton silk squares as a canvas to express their unique creativity, launching a new and exciting collaboration in the limited edition LV Art Silk Squares pure silk squares series . The artists in this collaboration have all collaborated with Louis Vuitton in other fields, especially Louis Vuitton’s illustration “Travel Book”: including the German pixel art group eBoy, the design duo Icinori, and the Italian artist and illustrator Lorenzo Lorenzo Mattotti, French graphic novelist and illustrator Nicolas de Crécy and Swiss artist Thomas Ott. They all explored the theme of “flower” from their own perspectives, reinterpreting the four-petal flower of the classic Monogram pattern.

The “Maze of Precious” silk scarf designed by eBoy, who is good at pixel art aesthetics, presents a maze full of classic Monogram pattern elements; Icinori’s Mayumi Otero and Raphael. Raphaël Urwiller’s “Malles Monde” shows Louis Vuitton’s tradition of making luggage and the art of travel with a strong visual effect; Lorenzo Mattotti’s “Iris Spring” pays homage to the brand’s Asnières workshop. The iris pattern on the Art Nouveau stained glass pays homage; the “Parfums de Méditerranée” designed by Nicolas Dequasi is inspired by the Grasse garden where Louis Vuitton perfume is prepared; Thomas Ott’s “Urban Flowers” It is a surrealistic scratch board.

This series of exquisite silk scarves are carefully crafted using traditional techniques by craftsmen from the global pure silk processing center and the Como workshop in Italy. The colorful pattern of the silk scarf is complicated. First, multiple layers of colors need to be printed on the highest quality white silk. Then the scarf is washed and dried, and then the edges are hand-sewn using an ancient technique called “roulottage”. Only silk scarves can show the artist’s outstanding creativity. They can be worn casually or framed to become exquisite decorations.

In fact, the LV Art Silk Squares pure silk square scarf series is not the first time Louis Vuitton has used square scarves as a creative stage: since 1987, Louis Vuitton has collaborated with famous artist Arman and others to launch the “Silk Road” Pure silk square scarf, in 2013, Louis Vuitton further launched the Foulards d’Artistes pure silk square scarf series designed by well-known street artists. The essence of these decades of art can also be seen in the “LV Dream” exhibition held at Louis Vuitton’s Paris headquarters.
