LV sponsors F1’s first wave! The trophy first settles into a luxurious custom-made suitcase.

The brand new Formula 1® season will kick off on March 13, with the Grand Prix taking place in Melbourne on the 16th. This year also marks the 75th anniversary of the FIA Formula One World Championship™. At the ‘F1 75’ event held at the O2 Arena in London, all ten current teams, drivers, and team principals were introduced, along with the 2025 car liveries. In preparation for the upcoming 75th anniversary celebration of Formula 1 racing and the new season, the trophy housed in a specially customized Louis Vuitton (LV) hard case was unveiled. This is an important part of LV’s announcement to serve as the official partner of Formula 1® for the next ten years; the hard case trophy will be awarded to the best driver of the season at the end of the year.

Crafted in the spirit of ‘Victory travels in Louis Vuitton,’ this FIA Formula One World Championship™ hard case trophy, like all of Louis Vuitton’s custom hard cases, is made at the Louis Vuitton workshop in Asnières, France. The two folding front panels of the suitcase are hand-painted in classic black and white Damier checkerboard to form a ‘V,’ representing ‘Victory’ and ‘Vuitton,’ and echoing the colors and finish line of Formula 1®. The interior of the case is lined with black leather/microfiber to protect the trophy, and the case is adorned with leather trim, utilizing the classic brass corners, locks, and clasps that have been part of Louis Vuitton luggage since the 1860s.

Louis Vuitton will also become the title partner of the 2025 Formula 1® Australian Grand Prix.
