During Milan Fashion Week, Prada unveiled its 2025 Fall/Winter womenswear collection. The grand show was held at the Prada Foundation’s Deposito venue, with special guests including French actress Juliette Binoche, Belgian actress Gal Gadot, and South Korean stars Bae Doo-na and Karina. The collection, once again co-designed by Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons, featured a total of 52 new looks.
The double-layered runway allowed models to move through a dynamic, three-dimensional space, which conveyed an abstract meaning of giving true existence to an individual beyond flatness. Continuing the theme from the 2025 Fall/Winter menswear collection, the venue combined exposed steel structures with ornate floral-patterned carpets, designed by Catherine Martin. The intricate and lavish patterns clashed with the raw masculinity of the steel frame, reflecting Prada’s long-standing style philosophy of contrasts.
The collection exuded both sweetness and uniqueness. For example, Look 7, which resembled home leisurewear, featured a long, loose shirt and skirt with white or black trim, creating the impression of someone stepping out of the house right after waking up. Interestingly, all 52 models, regardless of hair length or type, wore their hair in a deliberately tousled, “bedhead” style, adding a quirky but beautiful touch. The collection also explored the interplay between loose and fitted, form-fitting and slouchy looks. One example was a yellow knitted top paired with a deep brown leather skirt, or a relaxed, knitted long skirt with a short-sleeve maroon t-shirt.
The loose waistline and skirt hemlines sought to liberate women from the “fit” aesthetic, with abundant pleats and structural bows breaking away from the absolute connection between clothing and smoothness. Look 33, featuring a drawstring, pieced leather skirt, showcased the true essence of leather. Prada magnified this exploration of leather in Looks 34 and 35, where textures were emphasized in large, scarf-like leather elements integrated with coats, creating an optical illusion. The dropped shoulder and curved contours, paired with sharp, blade-like details, gave the Prada 2025 Fall/Winter womenswear collection a distinctive balance of classical and contemporary, exuding unique personality.
