Swiss luxury watch brand HUBLOT has officially launched its previously unveiled timepieces from the LVMH Watch Week in Taiwan. These include the Big Bang Meca-10 series, which boasts a ten-day power reserve and a robust sports style, as well as three new colorful ceramic chronographs in the Spirit of Big Bang collection. These releases further highlight HUBLOT’s innovative DNA as a high-end sports watch brand that disrupts conventional styles and boldly experiments with design.
In the luxury watch industry, a “long power reserve” is typically defined as seven days, but HUBLOT has previously released a ten-day manual winding movement. The newly unveiled Meca-10 model takes this to the next level with comprehensive upgrades in performance, detail, and design, both macro and micro. The watch features a unique gear transmission system for intuitive and convenient power reserve display. The HUB1205 manual winding skeleton movement allows for an open design where components such as the planetary gear, reduction gear, and rack mechanism are fully visible. Additionally, the HUB1205 movement includes a stop-seconds function, allowing for more accurate time setting along with its long power reserve.
The Meca-10 watch has also passed rigorous tests akin to those conducted in a military training camp. The watch underwent a “Chronofiable® A8” test from the Laboratoire Dubois that led the watch through six months of extreme experiences, including 18,000 shocks between 25G and 550G, and temperature variations from 0°C to 50°C. These tests ensure that the watch remains a reliable timekeeping companion in daily activities, travel, outdoor adventures, and even extreme sports. The 42mm case is available in three materials: HUBLOT’s exclusive King Gold, a lightweight Titanium Gold, and a sleek, high-tech Frosted Carbon Fiber. Prices range from NT$710,000 to NT$1,321,000.
Additionally, HUBLOT, known for its early and bold experiments with materials and colors, introduces three new hues for the Spirit of Big Bang Chronograph with colorful ceramic cases: Dune (sand), Jungle Green, and Sky Blue. After 15 years of research into ceramic colors, HUBLOT launched rare, vibrant colored ceramics in 2018. Using high-pressure and high-temperature fusion techniques, the brand can shape ceramics without burning the pigments, improving scratch resistance and durability while enhancing the brightness and vividness of the colors. These three timepieces showcase a gender-neutral design, seamlessly fitting both urban and natural landscapes. The watches are powered by the HUB4700 automatic movement, consisting of 278 parts.
