A person’s life and thoughts may be as light as a feather, yet the words and ideas left behind after putting pen to paper can have a significant and lasting impact. Montblanc has unveiled the new “Masterpiece Collection” Calligraphy Fountain Pen, paying tribute to the art and history of calligraphy with its feather inlay craftsmanship. The limited edition of only 88 pieces worldwide exudes elegance and grace.
When thinking of “writing,” the West is often associated with the precision of fountain pens, while the East uses brush pens to sketch landscapes, emotions, and philosophical thoughts. However, before the advent of fountain pens in the West, feather (goose) quills were also used for writing. The “Masterpiece Collection” Calligraphy Fountain Pen incorporates handcrafted feather inlays as a key design element, honoring the ancient tradition. The pen features an Au 750 solid platinum italic nib, sharper and with fewer rounded edges than Montblanc’s standard medium nib, allowing for the creation of oval-shaped letters, asymmetric arches, and clear line variations on paper.
The pen is limited to 88 pieces worldwide, with a price of approximately 55,000 euros.
