Film documentaries related to the fashion industry are not new. In the past, there have been many documentaries or feature films including “Yves Saint Laurent” (French: Yves Saint Laurent), “Gucci: Murder of a Rich Family”, “Fashion King”, etc. Recently, GUCCI released a new short film: “Who is Sabato De Sarno?” A Story About Gucci” takes people behind the scenes of the brand’s creative director Sabato and the first GUCCI Ancora show.
The film was directed by Ariel Schulman and Henry Joost and narrated by actor and GUCCI brand ambassador Paul Mescal. The film explores the first fashion series created by creative director Sabato De Sarno for GUCCI. It also seems to take people backstage and see everything beyond the catwalk. In some of the few documentary footage released by GUCCI, we vaguely glimpsed the cordial communication between Sabato and musician Mark Ronson, the rehearsal and catwalk before the first show, and the headshots of each model were sorted on the black board. Check out the backstage footage of Sabato personally styling the models.
Can’t wait to see it with your own eyes? The current short film will premiere exclusively on the MUBI platform from now on, and will also be played on Apple Vision Pro. It is worth mentioning that GUCCI has also cooperated with Air France. The film will be played on all flights in April, allowing people to experience the charm and fashion of GUCCI originating from Italy in the cloud.
