The nostalgic and sci-fi avant-garde design often gives people a strange feeling of the intertwining time of the past and the future. Swiss high-end watch brand Girard Perregaux once launched a limited edition Casquette 2.0 watch from the 1970s and sold out quickly. The brand recently launched a titanium version of Casquette 2.0, limited to 820 pieces, once again becoming a collector’s item. A hot topic among enthusiasts.
Digital display and electronic screen completely break away from the traditional mechanical focus of high-end watches. The Casquette 2.0 limited edition prototype was briefly launched from 1976 to 1978, with only 8,200 produced. The reason why the watch has become a classic is that it is inspired by the car dashboard, has an irregular geometric case, and can only read the time from one side of the watch, giving it a strong sense of style.
Girard-Perregaux has previously collaborated with French fashion brand Saint Laurent to launch a Casquette joint model, limited to 100 pieces and sold out rapidly around the world. After that, the ceramic and grade 5 titanium versions of Casquette 2.0 were also sold out quickly. The 2024 Casquette 2.0 watch uses secondary titanium and also uses a digital LCD display. However, the new generation GP03980 movement will be able to display hours, minutes, seconds, day of the week, date, month and year, while also “Added” timing function, second time zone and “private date” function.
The watch will be available for VIP priority ordering from now until November 14th, and will then be sold in limited quantities at some GP Girard-Perregaux boutiques and brand officially authorized retail stores, with a global limit of 820 pieces.
