Known for his harmonious compositions and warm, nostalgic color palettes, director Wes Anderson recently released his new film The Pale Blue Eye, which prominently features Montblanc pens, crosses, and pipes as key props. Now, Anderson has reunited with Montblanc to launch a second brand promotional film, maintaining his signature whimsical style that never fails to bring a smile.
In this approximately four-minute short, Wes Anderson stars alongside British actor Rupert Friend and Canadian actor Michael Cera, who played a significant supporting role in The Pale Blue Eye. The trio embark from a fictional Montblanc Alpine Library writing room, unfolding a story true to Anderson’s style — crafted through subtle dialogue, playful banter, and witty exchanges. The film features characteristic horizontal and vertical scrolling transitions, all wrapped in a warm, nostalgic tone that resonates perfectly with Montblanc’s brand identity.
Montblanc products again take center stage as striking props throughout the film, including the new Writing Traveller bag, the Meisterstück collection pens, and a “SCHREIBERLING” pen personally designed by Wes Anderson. Also featured is a practical yet collectible portable writing desk and an antique-style Minerva pocket watch, showcasing Montblanc’s craftsmanship across leather goods, writing instruments, and precision mechanical timepieces.
The short film is now available to watch for free on Montblanc’s official website and their YouTube channel at: https://www.youtube.com/user/montblanc
